Mother’s Day

I slept in till 7 a.m.

Work up to a finger in the eye and the demand to “wake up”.

I took care of a load of laundry.

Gave Dori a bath.

Fixed scrambled eggs, orange slices and toast for breakfast.

Boiled eggs for lunch at mom’s later.

Emptied the dishwasher.

Took a shower (with Dori). She is extra clean now.

Get dressed.

Wrestle Dori into a dress.

Comb through her hair while she does her best to wriggle away.

Run a yellow light on the way to church and arrive at 8:40, ten minutes late.

The rest of the day was a little slower. Church was a blessing. After church most of the afternoon we spent at mom and dad’s by the pool. Dori was in and out of the pool for hours.  We had a great time.  And Dori told everyone “Happy Mother’s Day”.

I love being a mom.
