Why Dori Went to School with a Half Eaten Apple

And Other Fun Stuff

Dori was eating an apple last night. She has decided she likes them uncut these days.  She headed into the pantry and came out with a large black trash bag. At first I was excited – perhaps she was going to replace the bag in the trash can. Would not that be an exceptional talent at two.   But no she brought the bag to me, dropped her apple inside and told me it was for lunch tomorrow.  I considered the small sandwich bag that I sealed the apple into after washing it a good compromise. So if anyone wants to know why Miss Dori had a half eaten apple in a sandwich bag in her lunch instead of the neat slices I usually lovingly supply, it’s because I thought a half eaten apple in a large black trash bag would just too tacky.

At around 3:30 A.M. this morning…

Dori:  Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy

Mommy: Mph, ugh, what?

Dori: Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy

Mommy: Ugh, Dori, what?

Dori (giggling): Mommy, you funny talking at night.

It is a good thing she is sooo adorable.

Bedtime Stories

Just so you know, if Dori asks you to read Donald Duck and God, she is referring to this book and this

children’s Bible. Both are nightly reads these days.

And now for some sassitude…

  1. Normally I would say that preschool teachers have seen it all, but a half eaten apple in a large black trash bag just might have been a first. 8^)
